St. John Ambulance

St. John Ambulance is a national organization whose mission is to enable everyone to improve their health, safety and quality of life through training, education, resources, and service to the community. St. John Ambulance strives to prepare everyone in Canada to save a life.

In 2018, St. John Ambulance began including mental health content in its Standard and Emergency First Aid courses. Integrated in multiple chapters aiming to define mental health, the content helps participants recognize and respond to a mental health emergency and refers them to mental health resources.

As an industry leader in first aid, a focus on mental health furthers St. John Ambulance’s mission to improve the health, safety and quality of life of Canadians at work, home and play. The organization is proud to deliver several Mental Health training programs uniquely tailored to meet the needs of workplaces across the country, including the new Mental Health and Wellness for the Workplace and Mental Health First Aid.

As well, during COVID-19, St. John Ambulance has adopted safety measures for in-class training which include social distancing, modification of skills/practices, frequent cleaning, etc. Most St John Ambulance offices across the country also offer blended learning options which significantly reduce the amount of time that participants need to spend in a classroom.
