Dr. Alana Hirsh

Alana Hirsh is a family and emergency physician who works with people with substance use disorder and mental illness in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. She writes and speaks on the topics of addiction, trauma, self-compassion, burnout prevention, and her experience with depression. Trained at McGill and UBC, Alana has practiced in a variety of settings, from inner cities to remote areas in Canada, the United States, and Liberia.
