Dr. Alain Lesage

Dr. Alain Lesage is a psychiatrist and researcher. His work focuses mainly on epidemiological and evaluative research into the care and service needs of those suffering from serious mental health disorders.

Dr. Lesage’s research interests include schizophrenia, suicide, mood disorders and related disorders. In addition to his research, in 1997, Dr. Lesage founded an evaluative support module for the development of psychiatric services at the IUSMM (Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal [Montréal’s University Mental Health Institute])—which became the Unité d’évaluation des technologies et des moyens d’intervention en santé mentale [Mental Health Technology and Interventions Assessment Unit] (UETMI-SM) of the IUSMM. He is also co-director of the Québec research network on suicide, mood disorders and associated disorders.
