Bell Let’s Talk funding supports summer programs for Nova Scotia kids

Aylesford , Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Bell Let’s Talk has donated $20,000 to support 2 summer programs for kids aged 8 to 17 at Brigadoon Village, a non-profit recreational facility that hosts camps for youth and families living with mental health issues and other special needs.

Camp BELIEVE is designed for campers impacted by a parent’s mental illness and was developed in partnership with the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. Camp Kedooopse focuses on campers experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one.

The two programs, which took place in July, run concurrently, allowing children and youth to connect with kids sharing similar experiences and learn healthy coping skills while engaging in traditional camp activities. This year almost 40 children will participate in these programs.
